Finish FAQ

Don't hesitate to contact me if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Glass: Transparent

Gloss: Opaque with shimmer

Aurora: Iridescent

Ambient (crafts only): Color changes based on how the object is being used/housed

Unfortunately, no. At this time, I'm only offering certain finishes for certain pieces:

Crafts: Glass, Gloss & Ambient (small crafts only)

Jewelry: Glass, Gloss & Aurora

By making the certain pieces (mainly jewelry) semi-opaque, it ensures that they are fully cured.

Ambient Finish FAQ

Don't hesitate to contact me if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Thermochromic powder changes color depending upon the temperature it's exposed to.

Color change occurs at 88° F/31° C.

Pieces are made with either UV resin, non-toxic thermochromic powder & sometimes mica powder and/or dye.

My little one loves using the Bears as bath toys or in any type of water play. They're also great for:

  • stocking, piñata or goodie bag stuffers
  • party favors
  • party games
  • surprise reveals
  • gender reveals
  • reward tokens
  • educational aids
  • decorative items
  • small stack paper weights (larger bears)
  • pool, bath time and water play toys
  • fidget toys
  • and more!

Here area  few things to remember:

  • Avoid extremely hot or cold temperatures. Temperatures above 110°F/43°C or below 32°F/0°C affect the longevity and functionality of the product. I almost melted one so....yeah...
  • DO NOT use these in/with/on any items that can be ingested. Non-toxic does not mean safe to consume and/or have in your food and/or drinks.
  • ALWAYS provide adequate supervision when using these objects. They pose both a chocking & insertion hazard and require access to heat sources.
  • I advise against putting these anywhere near open areas where they can't be easily retrieved (drains, we've had at least two bath time casualty).

I will be testing each of your pieces prior to shipping to make sure that you receive a quality product. That aside, I've learned this through trial, error, and parenthood:

Color won't change.

  • Let the little guys soak in warm or cool water for a bit. Tap water is warm/cool enough to activate the color change.

Color still won't change after heating/cooling.

  • Extreme temperatures or leaving them in high/low temperatures for a long period of time will negatively affect the chemical reaction. Please know that your products will be tested prior to shipping to ensure that this isn't a production issue. I cannot be responsible for any issues with them once they are shipped.

Colors are different than on the website.

  • Monitor and screen resolution.
  • Any pictures are of the darkest or lightest possible pigmentations HOWEVER, my sample pieces (not the items that you will be receiving) have been frozen and blasted with a heat gun. Do not try this at home, it'll break your bears.
  • Colors will shift and blend as the temperature changes and may cool/heat unevenly. Continue to cool/warm your item until the color has spread evenly.
  • A few of my powders are tri-color (they'll be marked). While they will shift and blend, they also change to a completely, unrelated color. I haven't worked out the exact temperature for the third color yet. Stay tuned!
